Scarrat Controlled Planets
Grendel:
is large Colony of over 200,000 people, who live in hundreds of small domed
cities. There is substantial light industry, and the world was a major stopping
point for travellers through the Scarrat System. Over the years, the destabilization
and the absence of Peacekeeper patrols led to the development of a powerful,
organized crime network. This network wields full power on Grendel, and
operates outside the UEF and PC controls and without the consent of the
population of Grendel. The centre of the trade in illegal drugs and other
contraband is found on this world, and bribery, extortion, and payoffs are
major parts of getting business done here. The Criminal network is currently
building up a large drug trade into the outer rim and mid rim regions.
Santoro’s:
is a world covered with stone, sand, and dust, and whipped by winds thick with
choking gasses. The planet is currently a site for exploratory mining and
drilling operations. A geological survey indicates that its composition has
potential as a source of several rare elements, and science crews are still
evaluating it. At present, only remote exploration sites are set up.
Hoardling's Crossing: no one actually lives
on the planet, but in a huge orbiting station 1,000 miles away. It is a mining
complex that extracts rare minerals from the planet below.
Anacrain:
atmosphere was added for convenience but no other particular terrarforming
efforts were made as the planet was developed industrial use. Anacrain is now
heavily industrialized, though technology tends to be older due to early
colonization and industrialization and the fact that Anacrain is in the heart
of Scarrat Space, a natural competitive disadvantage over newer and closer
facilities. Core and orbital traffic is always quite heavy due to their
location at the heart of the Scarrat-controlled space. Politically an
autonomous adjunct from CWN, Anacrain follows the laws and regulations of the
CWN but does not pay tribute for their membership.
Argadey:
orbits a binary star system near the Scarrat space core. An odd longitudinal
canyon of about 50 miles wide and 2000 miles long, stretching across the centre
of the largest continent on the planet. Since the atmosphere is moderately
toxic, the Colony exists in four domes, and Atmosphere Processors are slowly
adjusting the air. Genetically altered Algae analogues have been introduced to
the vast seas, and have replaced the planet's vegetation. This, they hope will
become a future source of income for the Scarrat Nation.
Hyperdrone:
has a large colony that lives in habitation domes. The colonists
harvest useful plants and trees for off-world trade. Many tunnels connect the
domes to various other points around the planet. The network of subterranean
tunnels is divided into a number of "broadways"; massive tunnels
capable of having several shuttlecraft fly abroad along them, stretching around
the world. The two main broadways near the surface are known as the Polar
Broadway, which stretches from pole to pole, and the Equatorial Broadway, which
is wrapped around the planetary equator. The Equatorial Broadway is directly
linked to many massive environmental enclaves, self-contained areas with individual
environmental controls and energy sources linked directly to the core. About
90% of the planetary population resides in the enclaves around this area. Due
to the high concentration of such enclaves, the Equatorial Broadway links to
very few industrial sites.
Loc
Eruxi: is composed of ten massive orbital platforms,
with a series of rotating hubs, and central cylinders with two spheres on
either end. Of these, only three have been restored to working order. Even so,
any stay on the platforms is an endless array of one stopgap measure after
another to maintain environmental integrity. The platforms are of sufficient
size to work on several spacecraft simultaneously.
Reich:
is a simple colony of many small, isolated villages and three cities. Not
much of the land is cultivated, and it has many wilderness areas. The west
coast is almost completely protected by a mountain range, where very rich mines
can be found, all being mined or research for future prospects.
Remin:
The surface of Remin is covered with heavy
flows of basalt and base iron-foam, pitted sparsely by small
impacts. The colonials live in tunnels underneath the
ground, where they utilize the geothermal volcano to power and heat their habitation
domes. There are three of these subterranean vaults,
with a total population of 600,000, and they are largely self-sufficient.
The
Cerberus Garrison Systems: These systems are named Ceberus Alpha,
Beta, Gamma, and Delta, in order of their distance from Grendel and Hyperdrone.
The only settlements here are Scarrat Service Bases orbiting the major planet
of each system. There are no ground colonies or installations, other than
tracking and communication facilities.
Cerberus
Prime: is a Garrison World with a Service Base and a
fleet of large cargo transports, transporting stolen goods and ships. Cerberus
Prime has become the hub of the Scarrat Fleet and space defence systems. From
here, the Scarrat fleet can reach any of the four Garrison Worlds that protect
the approach to Loc Eruxi and Grendel. Total population of the supporting
communities is 3 Million.
